The CIRPLACAR project has published a new article titled “Enhancing the recyclability of ELV plastic bumpers: Characterization of molecular, morphological, rheological, mechanical properties and ageing degradation” in Polymer Degradation and Stability Journal.
This study investigates post-consumer end-of-life vehicle (ELV) bumpers, showing that blends of recycled and virgin polypropylene can maintain high performance without additional additives, even after multiple processing cycles and accelerated ageing tests. The results provide valuable insights for sustainable recycling of automotive plastics, supporting EU recycling targets and promoting a circular economy in the automotive sector.
